Vitiligo
Vitiligo or Leucoderma is an acquired de-pigmentation of the skin that is very common with a worldwide. Vitiligo is a skin disorder in which the skin loses colour in blotches. It is an autoimmune condition when
a pigment called melanin gradually disappears from the layers of the dermis, resulting in the formation of white spots.
Vitiligo can occur at any age, person and in any kind of skins.
The most affected areas include the hands, the neck, the back and the wrists in the order - it is neither infectious nor contagious, which starts with a small white or pale colored patch and enlarges into larger patch in course of time. Though Vitiligo is not a fatal disease, it can have deep psychological impacts. The patient undergoes extreme anxiety, mental stress. They suffer from embarrassment and inferiority complex because of their appearance.
In Ayurveda Vitiligo is classified into Kushta rogas (skin diseases), referred as Switra, which is classified into 3 types :
Most common is Kilasa – when doshas vitiates the medho dhatu (fat tissue), the patches will be white in color.
Other is Daruna – the patches will be red in color,couses because doshas vitiates the rakta dhatu (blood),
Aruna – when doshas vitiates the mamsa dhatu (muscle tissue), the patches will be coppery in color,
Ayurveda offers the best treatment for Vitiligo that corrects the underlying cause of the illness and provides long-term relief. Natural ayurvedic herbal treatment which is aimed at managing the symptoms by eliminating the roots cause. Ayurvedic drugs are well known for the regeneration of melanocytes. - Strong detoxification Panchakarma procedures should be done as Vamana, Virechana, Rakta mokshana

avoid consumption of opposite foods like fish and milk together,
avoid direct contact with cold and sunlight,
rub pieces of papaya on the patches of skin affected by vitiligo,
drink papaya juice regularly to replenish the body of melanin cells,
red clay - apply 2 tbsp red clay and 2 tbsp of ginger juice - apply the mixture to the white patches every day,
drink water from a copper vessel,
apply the mixture of basil juice and lime juice to your skin everyday,
eating at least 5 walnuts everyday can help you deal with vitiligo
