Tinnitus

Tinnitus - ringing in the ears, is the sensation of hearing ringing, buzzing, chirping, whistling, or other sounds. Noise can be intermittent or continuous, and its volume can vary. It's often worse when the background noise is low, so you're best aware of it at night when you're trying to fall asleep in a quiet room. Some people with tinnitus have no difficulty hearing, and in some cases they become even so acutely sensitive to sound (hyperacusis) that they need to take steps to suppress external noise. Sometime Tinnitus are caused by infections or blockages in the ear, and can disappear once the underlying cause is treated.  Most often prolonged exposure to loud sounds is the most common cause of tinnitus . Carpenters, pilots, rock musicians, street-repair workers, and landscapers or other loud devices or who repeatedly listen to loud music is in the risk group. A single exposure to a sudden extremely loud noise can also cause tinnitus. A variety of other conditions and illnesses can lead to tinnitus, including: - lockages of the ear due to a buildup of wax, an ear infection, certain drugs - most notably aspirin, several types of antibiotics and antidepressants, Meniere's disease, which affects the inner part of the ear, Otosclerosis, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, circulatory problems, anemia, allergies, Neck or jaw problems, injuries to the head and neck

Ayurveda tinnitus treatment is wide-ranging and adaptive to individual circumstances. This is the cause of Vata dosha imbalance diseasesAll the reasons for vitiation of Vata dosha - like excessive talking, excessive fasting, excess exercise, shock, grief, fear, having bitter, pungent food are responsible for tinnitus.
Ayurveda are based on Panchakarma treatment which helps in treating and preventing tinnitus, including following Ayurvedic therapies:
- Nasya: Nasya, has a powerful effect in balancing the Vata. Nasya nourishes the senses and eliminates excess vata from senses.
- Massage, head massage and foot massage normalises the Vata and reduce stress level, removing toxins and gives relaxation.
- Karnapooran  - Ear drops
- Kawala & Gandush - Gargling of medicated oils or certain liquids and withholding medicated oils or certain liquids in the mouth for a certain period of time, strengthens the nerves near to eyes and ears and pacifies aggravated Vata.
Accordign to Ayurvedic doctor's recommendations Vata balancing herbs that reduce vata are beneficial as tinnitus is a vata disorder may be prescribed during the consultation.


  •  Avoid travelling and walking in cold or windy climates 

  • Avoid suppression of natural desires, such as sneezing, coughing,

  • Avoid excess television watching, 

  • use of computers and mobile in limit , 

  • Dont sleepnear an electrical appliance 

  • Avoid loud noises, music, speakers, and activities involving high frequency sounds
