Infertility
Infertility from the point of view of Ayurveda
Infertility is defined as not being able to get pregnant despite having frequent, unprotected sex for at least a year. The problem of infertility is quite common and may be due to male or female.
Causes of infertility in women include ovarian factors, tubal factors, age-related factors, uterine problems, PCOS, endometriosis, and menstrual cycle issues that can be affected by many factors, such as diet, emotional instability, excessive physical exercise, lifestyle, and stress.
Infertility itself does not stand alone. It is the result of combination with other diseases. Ayurveda helps to correct ovarian, tubular and uterine problems causing infertility.
According to Ayurveda, the main dosha involved in infertility is Vata. Correcting the functions of Vata is very important in the treatment of infertility. Ayurveda supports reproductive health by balancing Vata dosha, strengthening the body's own self-healing mechanisms.
How Ayurvedic doctors treat infertility
Ayurvedic infertility treatment focuses on the cause of this condition. Ayurveda provides combinations of herbs to correct the organic or functional problem causing infertility. The most famous and beneficial herbs for infertility are Ashwagandha, Shatavari and Amalaki. These extremely beneficial compounds can help restore hormonal balance.
Panchkarma treatments like Vamana (emesis), Virechana (puragation), Vasti (medicated enema) and Uttara Vasti (special enema administered through urethral or vaginal routes) are done as per the condition of the patient.
Ayurvedic treatments help relieve tension and detoxify the body, while special formulations, regular exercise and a strict diet nourish the body, revitalize the mind and strengthen the immune system.
An Ayurvedic doctor should draw a specific treatment plan with herbal medication and procedures up after a complete diagnosis and prognosis.
