Psoriasis in Ayurveda is a well-known disease because “Kithibha” is an autoimmune disease that causes plaques, which are itchy or painful patches of thick, red, and dry skin. Psoriasis affects any part of the body.
Ayurveda believes that impurities in the blood related to emotional aspects are the cause of the disease. Psoriasis is believed to occur due to the reduction of the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) to varying degrees, but mainly Vata and Kapha depending on Ayurvedic treatments.
