Fear and anxiety about future events. “Danger comes from afar”. A person with hyperopia lives in constant fear and anxiety because they are afraid of being caught.

Hyperopia from the point of view of Ayurveda

Hyperopia or farsightedness is a vision condition in which objects far away can be seen clearly, but objects close appear unclear or may not be visible.

Because of hyperopia, light rays do not focus properly and do not send a clear image of what you're looking at to your brain.

There are 2 types of hypermetropia:
  1. Simple hypermetropia — the most common type. It includes axial and curvature hypermetropia due to biological variations in the development of the eye. It could be inherited.
  2. Pathological hypermetropia — is caused by congenital or acquired conditions that are not a part of the normal biological variation of development. It may be inherited too.

According to Ayurveda, all three doshas are responsible for conditions such as farsightedness.

How Ayurvedic doctors treat hyperopia

Ayurveda gives complete eye care based on traditional Panchakarma and Kriyakalpa procedures. It helps reduce the power of the lenses and stabilize the progression of hyperopia.

Hyperopia treatment procedures include oral medications, exersises and procedures. The most common are Nasya, Snehapana, Virechana, Tarpana, Seka and Aschyotana. Certain yoga exercises for the eyes can be used as an addition for eye vision improvement.

We recommend scheduling a consultation with our Ayurvedic doctor for the best results.
