Basic description of the disease


Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition of reactions that can occur after someone has been through a traumatic event.

Person who go through traumatic events may have temporary difficulty, and it will take time and self-care to get better and recover. If the symptoms get worse, and interfere with day-to-day functioning, you may have PTSD. 

PTSD symptoms generally are grouped into four types: 

  • intrusive memories, 

  • avoidance, 

  • negative changes in thinking and mood  

  • changes in physical and emotional reactions. 

Symptoms may include flashbacks, nightmares and severe anxiety, as well as uncontrollable thoughts. 


Ayurvedic management of Post-traumatic stress disorder involves methods and therapies to deal with the past and to manage the memories that are deep lying in the persons mind. The treatment plan helps reduce symptoms and traumatic effects .
