Appendicitis
Appendicitis from the point of view of Ayurveda
Appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix. It is a small, thin pouch, about 5 cm long tube of tissue extending from the large intestine on the lower right side of the body. Appendicitis creates inflammation, pain, and swelling of the appendix. Appendicitis most often affects people between the ages of 10 and 30.
Ayurveda can treat appendicitis naturally at the first stage. In the worst cases, patients are advised to undergo medical surgery to remove the appendicitis.
When an inflamed appendix is left untreated, it bursts, spilling bacteria and debris into the abdominal cavity, the central part of the body that holds the liver, stomach, and intestines. This can lead to peritonitis, and it is a serious inflammation of the abdominal cavity's lining.

How Ayurvedic doctors treat appendicitis
Panchakarma therapies provide good and effective results in treating appendicitis. The procedures such as Anuvasana vasti help to detoxify the body. Anuvasana vasti is used for the purification and rejuvenation of the colon. Kashya vasti is a medicated herbal enema, that contains medicated herbs and oils.
Ayurveda offers many herbs to treat appendicitis. Depending on the degree of inflammation, your Ayurvedic doctor may recommend some medication like Sheet Dhara Syrup or Trikatu syrup. These herbal syrups neutralize the high acid content, reduce abdominal pain, and eliminate cramps.
Panchsakar Churna is a herbal treatment that helps with detoxification of the body. Recommended dosage and use is determined by the Ayurvedic doctor during the consultation. Patients should follow a healthy diet and lifestyle to reduce the risk of appendicitis.
