Ayurvedic Treatment for Childhood asthma – Alveda

CHILDHOOD ASTHMA

Childhood Asthma from the point of view of Ayurveda

Childhood asthma is a chronic illness that impairs children's breathing patterns. It is treatable and usually goes away by age, however it may continue beyond adulthood. When engaging in physical activities, we may notice the following symptoms: chest tightness, wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, or difficulty speaking. The extent and duration of these manifestations may change over time, for example, during an illness such as a cold or flu. The infections irritate your airways, making them more vulnerable to asthma triggers. Aside from the negative health outcomes linked with childhood asthma (such as problems learning in school), there are also risks connected with other serious disorders later in life, such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, and perhaps premature mortality.

HOW AYURVEDIC DOCTORS TREAT CHILDHOOD ASTHMA

According to Ayurveda, it is best to avoid foods and diets that aggravate Vata and Kapha and adopt a healthy lifestyle for a higher quality of life.

Asthma’s precise root cause is unknown. Which children get asthma is likely influenced by both genetics and environment.

When your child is exposed to asthma triggers, an asthma attack may occur. An asthma trigger is a substance or situation that can aggravate asthma symptoms. Different forms of asthma can be brought on by different triggers:

Allergens are the root cause of allergic asthma. Allergic reactions are brought on by allergens. They may consist of dust mites,Pets, moulds ,grass, trees, and weed pollen etc.

Non-allergic stimuli, such as breathing in cold air or taking certain medications, chemical substances, tobacco smoke etc are what induce non-allergic asthma.

Most cases are usually managed with antibiotics, bronchodilators and steroids.

Bronchodilators have several potential adverse effects on children with asthma like:

Unsteadiness

Headaches

Nausea and vomiting

If used orally, it could lead to swelling or irritation in the throat.
